What's Up LA

What’s Up in December

‘Tis the season to eat, drink and be merry. And that means loads of fun holiday activities all over Los Angeles. Here are some of the things I hope to check out this month, in between all the other parties and events. Hope to see you out there. Happy Holidays!

The Ultimate Holiday Movie Series

Rooftop movies get the holiday treatment all month long thanks to Rooftop Cinema Club. See classics like It’s a Wonderful Life and modern faves like Love Actually. Tickets and info here.

Echo Park Craft Fair

Taking place Dec. 9 and 10th at the 5,000 sq ft Mack Sennett Studios, the Echo Park Craft Fair is sure to offer tons of unique holiday gift options, from art to jewelry, homewares and everything in-between. Support local artisans and give a gift they’ll remember.

Ice Skating

Whether you prefer downtown LA or somewhere near the beach, Time Out has a great list of hot (er, cool) spots to hit the ice this holiday season – proof that Los Angeles does get winter. Kind of.

Marina Del Rey Boat Parade

The 55th Anniversary of the Marina Del Rey Boat Parade takes place Dec. 9. from 6pm to 10pm. Seventy boats will cruise through the marina, decked out with holiday lights and decorations. The free event will kick off with fireworks and bring loads of cheer to the coastal community. Don’t miss it!

Cozy Fireside Cocktails

Warm up from the breezy Santa Anas with a craft cocktail at some of LA’s best fireplace bars, because we’re not all rooftops and outdoor patios this time of year. Check out this list of great options here.
