What's Up LA

What’s Up in February

Ah, February. A time when love is usually in the air, but we in Los Angeles are enjoying a bit of early summer, too. While much of the rest of the country is bundled up and shoveling snow, we’re soaking up the sun and putting those New Years’ resolutions to the test. Here’s some of what’s happening in our great city this month:

LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show

Sweetening up the Anaheim Convention Center Feb. 10th and 11th, is the second LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show. Expanding to two full days this year, the cookie convention will offer two full days of workshops, dessert competitions and previews of new pastry tools. Plus plenty of sweet treats. Get more info and tickets here.

Museum of Failure

Rather than brush blunders under the rug, this popular exhibit at the Arts District’s A+D Museum makes its way to LA after a hot run in Sweden. Showcasing the world’s worst inventions and some of the biggest flops, the Museum of Failure runs through Feb. 18. Don’t miss your chance to see view a collection including Harley-Davidson perfume, Trump: The Game and Colgate’s frozen beef lasagna. More info here.

LA Chinatown Firecracker Run

One of the largest and longest-running Lunar New Year charity runs in the country, the LA Chinatown Firecracker run takes place Feb. 24 and 25. The 5/10K run or walk (plus 20 and 30+ mile bike ride, kiddie run and dog walk) start and end at Chinatown Central Plaza. A family-friendly festival will also take place during the event. See more info here.
